Grenadier Fighting Men and Wizzards. |
A scene involving a D&D game featured some Grenadier miniatures This left me smiling and rummaging through my drawers for a group of Fighting Men that I painted thirty years ago. I painted with enamels back then and they had weathered the storm of a few decades dungeon delving remarkably well. Anyway, I figured I could give them a few tender brush strokes before bringing them back to the gaming table.
These miniatures were sculpted by Andrew Chernak for Grenadier. They are early sculpts that show his potential (despite the bulky hands and long limbs), that he would develop later with the Fantasy Lords and Dragon Lords series. As a sculptor, I am impressed by the detail of the mail, shields and weapons. His faces are fantastic!
God bless you and have a great week!

I've got that set myself ... Have always loved those guys. I was just holding the chap charging forward in the chainmail with tree emblazoned shield a couple of day's back. Mine also have a fine layer of enamel encasing them ;) you've certainly done a great job sprucing yours up ... fine basing as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rom, they are one of the first box sets I bought. They will be great henchmen for the D&D campaign.
