28. What's the most important lesson you've learned from Dungeons and Dragons?
Be yourself.
Ok, let me elaborate. I know that Dungeons and Dragons could be seen as a 'being-someone-else-for a-while' type of game. That perspective of D&D as escapist fantasy is an easy one to imagine. After all, it is called a role-playing game.
However, it's exactly this element that makes the game an exercise in self discovery. By playing someone else in a game, you can explore who you really are. What makes you, well... you.
Never go swimming, head into the wilderness or into a dark hole alone before telling at least 1 other person that you're planning to do so ;)
